Maldives is considered one of the most romantic destinations
in the world, for good reason. Guests can expect stunning white sand beaches,
turquoise lagoons, unsurpassed snorkeling, beautiful rustic and elegant villas
on the water or in the sand, and excellent restaurants. What's not to like? No
wonder the newlyweds flock here. But we know that the selection of your special
retreat can be a big pressure, that's why we send our hotel researchers to
discover which Maldives resorts offer the most privacy, the highest levels of
luxury and the most beautiful places.
1. Gili Lankanfushi
Maldives
It is hard to beat Gili Lankanfushi for his romance, thanks
to his high level of privacy, rustic luxury ambience and pampering service
(each couple is in charge of a personal butler). The beautiful wooden bungalows
are all on the water, with direct access to the turquoise Indian Ocean, and are
as big as the houses. Some are so private that they can only arrive by boat,
not by boat, giving couples the only time they could wish for. The underground
cellar and the chocolate cave have a private dining table and a wine cellar
with more than 400 wine labels, and guests can book special dinners and
sommelier tastings. In addition, guests can organize dinners in the villas or
dine in one of the more than seven private restaurants around the resort, such
as One Palm Island, which faces the sunset.

2. Cocoa Island by
COMO
Cocoa Island is even smaller than Gili Langanfushi, with 33
bungalows on the water and lots of peace and tranquility. The small island felt
almost empty during our visit, despite being at 70 percent capacity. The
atmosphere is romantic and exclusive, with an underlying theme of integral
well-being. Many guests pamper themselves with expensive spa treatments during
the day and dress up for gourmet dinners at night. Most guests are newlyweds
and couples. Each bungalow here has a private terrace with direct access to the
sea, a deep bathtub, two showers (indoor and outdoor) and sunset views over the
ocean.
3. Taj Exotica Resort
& Spa
Taj Exotica is one of the most luxurious and romantic
resorts in the Maldives. Built in 2001, this five-pearl property offers indulgences
as personal stewards, private pools and poolside attendants that will spray
guests with cold Evian water and shine their sunglasses. Upon arrival, the
staff welcomed us with shell necklaces, bathed us with red rose petals and took
a welcome photograph (which eventually became our farewell gift, of course).
For a considerable fee, guests can also arrange private dinners, in a tree
glass, on a sandbar or floating in the lagoon, or even order pizzas with caviar
and gold leaf.
4. Banyan Tree
Vabbinfaru
At the Banyan Tree Vabbinfaru, the spa-like villas have
private pools and outdoor showers, and the atmosphere is undeniably romantic.
At night, the roads light up with a soft glow and private dinners start at the
beach or at the end of the smaller pier. The main restaurant itself plays soft
melodies during dining hours. Guests can return to the bar to have a drink
after dinner, although most end up taking advantage of their pools, which
become romantic in the dark with shades of pink and purple. They can also enjoy
the Bose sound system and the Banyan Tree CD with music similar to a spa, as
well as an incense and oil burner with the aroma of the day's brand (for
example, "rose and lemon grass"). Upon arrival, VIP guests are
greeted with a bottle of Moët & Chandon in the room, while the newlyweds
receive a bottle of Chilean Cabernet Sauvignon. Just keep in mind that some
units are in direct view of each other, compared to Angsana, where privacy
along the beach is more a guarantee, but this is one of the only disadvantages.

5. Angsana Ihuru
Angsana Ihuru is not as luxurious as its sister property
neighbor, Banyan Tree Vabbinfaru, but still decadent. Half of the modern
thatched villas feature an open-air bathroom with a jetted tub and the house
reef is one of the Maldives' best. A welcome drink is offered upon check-in.
Guests are then led along quiet sandy paths and palm trees to the villa. CD
player - creating a soothing environment, similar to a spa. The spa itself is
located near the rooms and the masseuses give free shoulder rubs to encourage
them to make an appointment, which many do. Otherwise, most guests spend their
time enjoying the beach and reef of the house. Couples can relax in comfy
bathrobes and sandals, gaze up and see palms rustling, and feel thousands of
miles from anywhere - what they are like. They will receive a nice preparation
service one evening with candles and flowers. Towards the beach, there are two
sun loungers for each villa with a brush on each side for more privacy.
6. Dusit Thani
Maldives
Families are welcome in Dusit Thani, but the majority of
guests are Russian, Asian and Middle Eastern couples. Most people spend their
days snorkelling, scuba diving, boating or relaxing on the white sand beaches.
The villas are 1,313 square feet in size and feature traditional thatched
roofs, wooden floors and modern, elegant decor accented by colorful cushions.
Highlights include large bathrooms with bathtubs and separate showers, private
patios and well stocked minibars with wine coolers. Low-priced Beach Villas and
Water Villas feature villa ambassadors, but no full-time butlers, while upscale
villas include on-call butlers who will arrange day trips, unpack luggage,
arrange a swim. hot. he. Couples will probably appreciate the resort's
"Borderless Restaurant" concept, which allows guests to organize
meals almost anywhere, on the beach, on a sand bar or even in the lagoon with
the table and chairs on the beach. 'water. For parents who wish to spend time
alone, babysitting can be arranged on time.
7.Soneva Fushi
Soneva Fushi has a luxury resort that meets the atmosphere
of the ecological camp. The attentive personal butlers, the romantic gourmet
restaurants and the large waterfront villas are very chic - but we walked
barefoot in puddles of mud up the ankle, we had a leak in the roof of our villa
and we had found a field mouse on our living room couch. Yet this is one of the
best options in the Maldives and in many ways resembles Gili Lankanfushi, to
the butler's titles (designated on the island by Mr. or Mrs. Fridays after the
fictional character who served as the Robinson The assistant of Crusoe). It is
no coincidence that the Gili were also part of the Soneva brand. But if
Maldives prices are among the highest, there is one major difference: all rooms
are overlooking Gili Lankanfushi, while all rooms are on the beach. This is
also one of the reasons why Soneva Fushi is more welcoming than Gili, because
overwater villas can pose safety problems for small ones; Soneva Fushi also
offers a kids' club and chargeable babysitting services. And while both are
rustic-luxurious, the emphasis is more on the "rustic" aspect, as it
is one of the most environmentally friendly resorts in the Maldives. Soneva
Fushi is also further away than Gili. So even though it's more luxurious than some
of the top-rated resorts on this list, we've eliminated some romance-friendly
places because of its popularity with families and its level of hardiness.
8. Centara Ras Fushi
Maldives Resort & Spa
Open since 2013, this well-run hotel complex is located near
the airport and has 140 rooms, either along the shore or on stilts on stilts
(accessible via a long pier). The Thai company Centara has two establishments
in the Maldives, known for their luxury accommodation at competitive prices,
and it is aimed at young couples (guests under 12 years old are not allowed).
It is not the most beautiful island nor the best reef for snorkeling, but its
service is exceptional, a rarity at this price. The buffet serves a wide
variety of European and Asian cuisines, while three a la carte restaurants
(Thai, Italian and Middle Eastern) and three bars keep the continent
entertaining and lively. Half-board and all-inclusive rates are available.
Honeymoons receive some extras, as well as a special bed preparation service
when guests least expect it.

9. Kandolhu Maldives
Kandolhu Maldives, a first-class luxury boutique with five
pearls, houses 30 villas, all with private terraces and sea views. Surrounded
by a reef filled with fish and close to good fishing sites. diving is a good
option for submarine enthusiasts. It offers different packages, including an
all-inclusive package. This small, screen-savvy island has 4 a la carte
restaurants, a relaxing beach bar, a spa, a dive center, a library lounge, and
a state-of-the-art gym. Focusing on couples, this idyllic island is designed
for privacy, limited social interaction and relaxation. Upscale,
contemporary-style rooms come with all the essentials - from fluffy towels to
wine fridges - and can include open-air bathrooms, private beach areas and private
pools.
