From Burj Khalifa to Palm Jumeirah,
explore Dubai's best things to do and the must-see tourist attractions
Dubai is a city that deserves to be
seen. An unprecedented architecture rubs shoulders with traditional
neighborhoods, while artificial islands emerge from the shoreline. Here are the
best places to check your list of visits while in town.
1. Burj Khalifa
Emblematic Dubai
Discover a truly unique view from the top
At a height of 828 meters, the Burj
Khalifa is hard to miss. The tallest tower in the world naturally dominates the
skyline of Dubai, but the true majesty of the building is better apprehended
closely or, better still, from the inside. On a clear day, the view from the
observation deck on level 124 is absolutely beautiful; it is dominated only by
the view from the luxurious At The Top Sky lounge on the 148th floor. And for
those who would like to linger in the clouds, At.mosphere at level 122 is the
perfect place.

2. Dubai Mall
The shopping paradise
REDEFINE THE SENSE OF SHOPPING
Dubai Mall is right next to Burj
Khalifa. Calling sprawling development simply a mall is a bad service. Even a
whole day spent here is not enough to see everything. With 1,200 shops and more
than 150 restaurants, there is plenty to do Zoo.
3. The fountain of Dubai
A grandiose spectacle
WITNESS DANCE IN THE WATER IN THE CENTER OF
DOWNTOWN DUBAI
he Dubai Fountain, located at the base
of the iconic Burj Khalifa and just outside the famous Dubai Mall, is home to
the world's largest choreographed fountains system. This very popular aquatic
show dances throws jets of water up to 150 meters in the air. Each colorful and
illuminated stream swings in time between different musical numbers from around
the world, producing what has become one of Dubai's most popular shows. Two
performances take place in the afternoon (1 pm and 1:30 pm), except on Fridays
(1:30 pm-2 pm) and evening demonstrations begin at sunset and take place every
30 minutes until the final song is played at 23h.

4. Palm Jumeirah
An island in the shape of a palm tree
EXPLORE ONE OF THE ARCHITECTURAL TRIUMPHS OF
DUBAI
An artificial island in the shape of a
palm tree - there is a reason why locals say "only in Dubai". Palm
Jumeirah is one of the best largest artificial islands in the world and a
triumph of human ingenuity. Locals and tourists alike enjoy the Palm's wide
range of upscale hotels, including the Waldorf Astoria, Fairmont, One &
Only, Jumeirah Zabeel Saray and, perhaps more specifically, the iconic
Atlantis, The Palm . And with a monorail that runs along the "trunk"
that connects to the continent's tram system, it could not be easier to get
there
5. Dubai Creek
Old trade routes
Enter the waterways and souks of the old city
of Dubai
Dubai is perhaps famous for the pomp
and glamor of its dizzying towers, but the true heart of the city is and will
always be the stream. The saltwater estuary is the original site of the Bani
Yas tribe. Its waters were essential to what was once Dubai's main form of
economy: scuba diving and fishing. Today, the region is full of history of the
emirate, home to the Dubai Museum as well as the labyrinthine lanes of the
souks of gold, spices and textiles. While you're at the creek, a traditional
Abra water ride is a must, and at an amazing 1 AED per ticket, it's definitely
the best tourist attraction in the city.
6. The promenade and the beach at
JBR
Eat. shop. beach.
MEANDER BY THE URBAN DISTRICT OF DUBAI BEACH
For those who like to shop, dine,
watch a movie and go to the beach at the same place, consider a trip to the
beach in front of JBR. With guest DJs listening to music on the weekends, an
outdoor cinema and a popular water park to entertain the little ones for an
hour or two, JBR is still buzzing.
7. Kite Beach
Dubai Beach District
Hit the waves on this stretch of vibrating
sand
The aptly named Kite Beach is the
perfect place to test your water sports skills, but there is plenty to do
outside the water in this popular place too! Enjoy a smoothie at one of the
many outdoor cafes and restaurants located just steps from the beach, watch the
bikers and skaters take off in the new skate park or play a game of volleyball.
With many activities on the beach and breathtaking views of the Burj Al Arab,
it's easy to spend the whole day here.
